Reiki Treatment with Martha Patriche

Back in September of 2007, I won a half hour of Reiki in a raffle. That win was compounded by a gift of a half-hour session, due to the generosity of the practitioners who noted my interest, my illness and my need.
I wrote about this experience at the skilled and gentle hands of Dori and Martha Patriche in another article on Ncubator Reiki -- Won it in a Raffle a few months ago.
I emailed them to let them know that I had written that article and posted it on my website. Martha emailed me back to say they were pleased, and asked me to come back for another free treatment.
I hadn't expected this and was pretty pleased myself. Of course, I said yes.
On the morning of my appointment, Martha met me at the door of her home and invited me into the room where the treatments are done.
I took off my watch and earrings. Martha put on some gentle music. I laid down on my back on the cot, and she covered me with a blanket. Pillow under my head and a smaller one under my knees.
She began with her hands above my head. I simply lay with eyes closed, relaxed. The first time, two years ago I remember feeling nervous and like I should be, I don't know, DOING something. But not this time.
After a good while, I felt warmth near my face. She had moved her hands inches away from my forehead. The warmth was from the proximity of her hands.
After many minutes, she moved her hands to either side of my head, within inches of my ears. This was interesting. It was if something were being pushed, or flowing, through my ears, into my head, down my neck ... and like it was ... moving something out of the way. That was how it felt.
I began to weep. Silent, many tears, a little bit of shaking ... got tears in my ears ... but it wasn't crying ABOUT something, it was more like a release of ... pressure, a physical relief.
She said later she had had an impression at that time, that something was being released. That sounded right to me, sounded like what I had experienced.
Martha laid her hands gently on me, on top of my head, over my heart, on my arms, on my knees, on my legs, each location for maybe 5 to 10 minutes at a time.
When she was focused on the top of my head, I again began to weep. She next moved to over my heart and within a moment or two, the weeping stopped.
The other place where I noted a reaction was on my knees. It felt like something was being pushed down my legs and out the bottoms of my feet, flowing like water. This flow went on even after she had moved her hands away from my knees.
She eventually left me alone for awhile, maybe 10 to 20 minutes, I would guess. The whole session took about an hour, and I lay there quietly for another 15 minutes before I was up off the cot and sitting in her living room with a glass of water.
Very gentle procedure. No abrupt ... anything. Everything Dori and Martha do revolves around the comfort of the person they are treating. If I had needed to take longer getting up off the cot, or longer before leaving her table, I would have been allowed that choice. It is all about the person they are treating. Wonderful.
She said, the practitioner does not ask personal questions, or delve into a client's private life. Their role is to simply be the vehicle for the energy (not her words, I am trying to verbalize what I got from her).
But even there, the practitioner is not healing you. They are there to help you to be able to heal yourself. You accept and allow the energy in, or you don't.
I had been quite fragmented and fractured that morning before our appointment. Very disoriented physically and mentally before I even left my house. I was three sheets to the wind by the time I got to her place. Fortunately, we got right to it. Conversation would not have been possible for me.
An hour or so later, I was in better shape. Still sounded and felt stupid and lunkheaded, but definitely better.
She asked me to come again in a month's time. I am absolutely planning on going. The month is almost up, and I am looking forward to my next appointment later this week.
She told me I should rest some for the remainder of the day, but she figured I'd have good energy for maybe a couple days from this.
After I got home I had a flare-up of many old symptoms. I felt rather like a radio sounds, as the dial is turned from one station to another, as it zeroes in on the new station. Head was full of static, and body with swirling, vibrating sensations.
I rested for the afternoon. By dinner time, I was feeling more solid, steady and clear-headed than I had in some time.
